Kidlit Vibes Contest

I have already been slacking on my weekly blog posts, but for good reason!

I have some SUPER exciting publishing news to share soon, AND I’ve been busy helping my critique group (affectionately known as the “Frenzy Friends”) get ready for the 2ND ANNUAL KIDLIT VIBES CONTEST!!

There are a lot of contests out there, but we believe ours is unique because we focus on having fun! Sure, there are prizes (over 30 this year, in fact — all donated by generous kidlit authors) , but our goal is to connect writers with other writers, and to celebrate in the joy of creating!

The premise is simple, just step right up to the WHEEL OF FEELS and spin a “vibe,” then get to writing! We challenge you to craft a story for kids in 125 words, or less, that captures the “vibe” you spun!

This year, we incorporated some of our favorite vibes, along with vibes suggested by the Twitter kidlit community. Will you get nervous or powerful? Thankful or Sus (suspicious)?
